Two baptisms! Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all of you!

I am so thankful for my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I know that He lives, and because of Him, we all will live again. This past week here in the Philippines has been Holy Week. Which is a holiday week where there is no school or work. It's a catholic celebration to remember Jesus Christ.

Yesterday we had 2 baptisms! Sister Queenie Roa (15) and Michelle Libres (9). Sister Esekia and I were so happy for them as they took a big first step of coming unto Christ. I hope we all can remember our Savior not just on Easter, but every day of our lives through our thoughts and actions. I love you all! Take care!!

Paghinay!

Short but sweet :)

Maupay na kulop!

Hello world, this is Sister Healey reporting from Tanauan Leyte. Things have been going great this past week! Two of our investigators have been interviewed and passed for baptism!  The Waray Waray has been coming along! Sister Esekia is so funny! She is afraid of frogs because there are not any frogs in Samoa. Every time we are walking at night, and there are so many huge frogs/toads out and about, she screams.

It is SO much hotter here in Tanauan than in Biliran. haha I had adjusted a little bit before, but I am just dripping sweat 24/7. Gross diba? But it is okay, it does not stop me from preaching the gospel. :)

That's all I have time for this week! I love you all! Read your scriptures! Smile at a stranger! Pray always!

Paghinay kamo!

Now serving in TANAUAN, LEYTE

Maupay na aga.

Waray waray na ak! I have been transferred to Tanauan 1st Ward on Leyte island. I'm now in Tacloban Zone! My new companion is Sister Esekia from Samoa! I am follow-up training her. She is really nice, but is struggling with the language so I teach most of the lessons.. in Waray. Haha My language is so mixed up now. I am switching and I'm kind of worried that I'll forget my Cebuano.

Transfers were on Wednesday and I said goodbye to Naval. Tuesday night the members threw me a farewell party/Family Home Evening and I got the traditional flour dumping on the head after the closing prayer. I love Naval and I will truly miss all of the friendships and amazing people that I was blessed to be able to meet. I may just be one of the many missionaries that comes and goes, like all the rest, but I will never forget them and all of the experiences we had together. The good and the bad. I will go back to visit them someday. Until that day, Amping kamo kanunay. Kitakits.

Changing to Waray Waray has been interesting. It's been kind of hard, but it has come mush faster than I thought it would. Tanauan is bigger than Naval and has a lot more people. I'm still kind of lost, haha but I'm glad I have Sister Esekia to take me from one appointment to the next. The ward is really nice and they have really welcomed me here in Tanauan. We even played volleyball this morning! Which was a lot of fun!

I'm excited to be here in Tanauan and will do my best to serve and love the people. Gihap, mahibaro an Waray. Tub tub ha sunod na semana,

Paghinay kamo permente.

Changes are coming soon

Maayong Hapon!

This week is transfers! I find out tomorrow where I will be going, but President Maurer called me this morning and told to me to prepare! :)  So I will be leaving Naval and Sister Pongyan behind, but she will be training so I will be a grandmother! haha She hasn't heard anything about her VISA so for now she will be staying here in Tacloban Mission!

I will miss her and Naval, but I am excited to go somewhere new and have whole new experiences. Naval branch and the members here are so great. I have made amazing friends and we have been through a lot together. I love them and will miss them. After all, I was "born" in Naval. These saints have a special place in my heart. I am so thankful for the time I have had to serve with them. Love ko ang Naval. :)

Hopefully I will have a chance to update you all where I go, but it will probably just be next week! Until then,

Amping Kanunay!
